I said, “Somebody should do something about that.” Then I realized
I am somebody.
Have you ever read that quote frequently attributed to Lily Tomlin? I remember being struck and then embarrassed by its blunt truth. There are a lot of “somethings” that need “doing about,” aren’t there? Our world is a complicated place and while we seem to have some of the rules down, let’s be honest—we have a lot of work to do.
But here’s the good news…
It might seem like our world is nothing but a tangled, chaotic mess but take a closer look. If you look past the knots and coils (you might even have to squint a bit) you’ll begin to notice that there is good happening every day all around us. Keep looking and you’ll see the people who are working out the knots, inch by inch. Some untangle a few strands from the side and while others work in the thick of the tangled chaos. Big or small, each role brings us closer to an all-around better place to be.
The stories I post in this blog focus on the many positive things that are happening in the midst of our crazy world (and sometimes, because of it).
Perhaps the best part of all of this is that these people, these…world untangling folk? They’re all people just like you and me. The silver lining of it all is this: We’re all “somebodys.”
Good news is everywhere. Let’s start creating it.
